Cheers to the Last Weekend of 2024! Reflect, Celebrate, and Set Intentions for the Year Ahead!
As we approach the final weekend of 2024, there’s an undeniable sense of both reflection and anticipation in the air. The emphasis on a new year/ new goals can be cheesy, but it also has lots of momentum and can be the perfect time to pause, look back on the moments that shaped us, and get ready to embrace the new year with intention.
2024 has been full of so many new memories for my family. We added 2 new grandchildren to the tribe, and I’m happy to report that everyone is healthy!
With new experiences and goals on the horizon, we are so excited to enter the new year and continue watching our family grow and flourish.
Again, this time of year has lots of momentum (Capricorn season! Ha!) so use it to your advantage! Here’s a few ideas to help make the most of the New Year energy:
1. Reflect on Your Year: A Journey of Growth and Memories
Before diving into the excitement of New Year’s Eve parties or planning for 2025, take a moment to reflect on the year gone by. What were your biggest wins in 2024? What challenges did you overcome? Think about the lessons you’ve learned, the memories you’ve created, and the people who’ve made a difference in your life.
One great way to do this is by journaling or creating a gratitude list. This simple exercise can help you close out 2024 with a sense of peace and appreciation, while also allowing you to acknowledge your growth, and maybe even being honest about your short comings. You have to recognize them to be able to change them!
2. Create a Vision Board: Visualize Your Dream Year
Visualizing success is one of the most powerful tools in goal-setting. A vision board is a creative and fun way to keep your aspirations front and center. Grab some magazines, print out pictures, or use Pinterest to collect images that represent your dreams for the year ahead.
Place your vision board somewhere visible, where it’ll serve as a constant reminder of your intentions and inspire you to take action every day. Ready to get in shape? Excited to travel more? Or is it finally the perfect time to find your dream home? BELIEVE .. It can’t not happen!
3. Do a Deep Clean and Declutter Your Space
There’s something incredibly refreshing about cleaning out the old and making space for the new. Whether it’s a full-on house purge or just tidying up the spaces where you spend the most time, a clean environment can foster mental clarity and positive energy as you head into the new year.
Consider tackling the kitchen, your closet, or any areas that have become cluttered throughout the year. Not only will you feel lighter and more organized, but the act of clearing out physical space can help clear out mental space as well. It’s a symbolic “out with the old, in with the new” ritual.
4. Cross Off a Bucket List Item: End 2024 with a Bang
If there’s a bucket list item that’s been sitting on your mind, now’s the time to check it off! Whether it’s something adventurous like hiking a new trail or something more personal like writing a letter to your future self, taking action on your goals will bring a sense of accomplishment and excitement to your year-end.
Crossing off that item will send the message that you’re capable of accomplishing anything you set your mind to—building momentum as you head into the new year.
5. Share Your Goals with Friends and Family: Speak It into Existence
One of the most impactful things you can do for your goals is to share them with others. Research shows that when you vocalize your dreams, especially in a confident, present-tense way (“I am doing this,” rather than “I want to do this”), you increase the likelihood of achieving them.
Have a conversation with your friends or family members about your intentions for 2025. Encourage them to do the same! By speaking about your desires as if they are already happening, you are more likely to take action and attract opportunities to bring them to life!
Of course, no New Year’s celebration is complete without a little fun! Whether you’re planning a quiet night at home or a lively celebration with friends and family, find ways to honor the end of the year in a way that feels meaningful to you. And then make a toast to 2025.. it’s going to be one for the books! 🏡❤️
