Although southern Nevada is not in the path of totality for the Solar Eclipse, southern Nevadans will see a partial Eclipse! It’ll still be pretty neat, and better than nothin, right?!
For those living in the Las Vegas valley, the eclipse will begin on Monday, April 8, around 10:15 a.m. with a peak at 11:20 a.m. At that time 60% of the sun will be obscured by the moon. It won’t last long, the eclipse will be over at 12:30 p.m. So plan accordingly! Set your alarms, play hooky from school or work, and don’t miss out!
Seriously, don’t miss out. There will not be another solar eclipse — that can be viewed by the U.S. — until Aug. 23, 2044.
Make sure to grab yourself some special viewing glasses too! They can be purchased on Amazon or some chain stores, and are essential to protect your eyes during the Eclipse.
Wherever you are, I hope you take a moment to pause and enjoy the magic of Nature this monday! I know I will.
