Lake Mead National Recreation Area is recruiting applicants for an eleven-month internship opportunity as a Community Volunteer Ambassador. The CVA will assist the Lake Mead volunteer office with the development of a Preventative Search and Rescue (PSAR) volunteer program, host volunteer events, and spread the word about volunteering for Lake Mead through outreach and community engagement events.
This selected intern will receive a $600 weekly living stipend, $1200 in professional development funds, and housing in the park. Upon completion of the internship the intern will receive the Public Land Corps hiring authority that lasts for 2 years and can be used to gain employment with federal public land management agencies as well as a $6,895 AmeriCorps education award that can be put towards college tuition, student loans, and several other education courses.
