November 30 – December 1 • WinterFest Tree Lighting, Drone Show and Holiday Light Parade
Start celebrating the holidays on Water Street at Henderson’s annual Tree Lighting with The Mayor and the Winterfest Holiday Light Parade. New this year, is a special drone show in the sky. Enjoy as a spectator or join in on the fun and create a spectacular lighted entry for the parade where you will have a chance to win a cash prize! The Foodie Games: Family Edition is a fun way to bring competition to the kitchen. Registration will include 2 seats in the kitchen for a child and a parent. You will both make what is on the menu, rate your competitor and decide a winner. Then, you can take your food home and celebrate. A photo opportunity will be available at the end of class to commemorate the event. This is an affordable and perfect evening out with your child. Additional children can be added if needed.

Young artists will enjoy a North Pole theme that includes a play snowball fight, polar bear crafts and maybe a glimpse of Santa’s elves. Paint an Arctic white color scene or create a setting that looks like Santa’s workshop while sipping hot cocoa. Dinner is included. Parents can enjoy a quiet night out while the kids are getting crafty. Register at least one week in advance as space is limited.

Celebrate the magic of winter with us. Festivities include games, bounce house, treats, and our famous underwater candy cane hunt. December 16 • Reindeer Dash 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk
Make a dash from Cornerstone Park to Pittman Wash Trail this winter for a jolly good time. Participants are encouraged to don their most cheerful costumes or ugly holiday sweaters. Souvenir T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 300 participants. All fitness levels are welcome.

December 17 • Winter Solstice at the Bird Viewing Preserve
Come celebrate winter solstice at the BVP! The Bird Viewing Preserve is a wonderful place to celebrate the changing of the seasons and the beginning of winter. We welcome children and families to come create warmth, spirit, and light during this event celebrating the darkest and shortest day of the year. Families will enjoy refreshments and a stroll around the ponds. We will talk about the significance of the solstice and will make crafts such as bird feeders out of oranges, roll honeycomb beeswax candles, and decorate wintery lanterns perfect for the upcoming dark winter evenings.
