We have officially made it to the fall season, although Las Vegas still boasts 90 degree high temps, we are finally feeling it cool down!
With the cooling temps, pumpkin patches are opening their doors for the pumpkin-picking season!
A popular destination is the Gilcrease Orchard, established in the 1970s as an orchard, but dates back to the 1920s. This is a popular destination for Las Vegas residents and tourists looking for a break from the desert landscaping. The orchard is located in North Las Vegas, and offers different fruits and vegetables that are available for picking at a very-low price!
The orchard offers sunflowers, pumpkins, granny smith apples, Armenian cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, zucchini, radishes, and summer squash available to handpick. All items are available at a price per lb, other than the sunflowers that are $2 per flower. Other fruits and vegetables are available for picking, when they are in season.
The orchard also sells other items at their concession and farm stand for purchase after you are done picking your fruits and vegetables! Some items for sale include: apple cider donuts, apple cider, apricot or peach freezer jam, caramel apples, and kettle corn!
The orchard also offers tractor rides available for anyone at the farm!
